Humans
"You think a measly little apocalypse is going to stop us? The gods are dumber than I thought if that's their angle."Territory: Western Wastes
Main Factions: The Molten Core
Trait: Augmented - Their penchant for experimenting, adapting, and rebuilding the broken machine have led to the science of physical augmentation among mankind. Augments range from ludicrously expensive to dirt cheap, largely depending on who you pay to put the pieces in place. Human players may select a physical augment to start with. Further augments must be purchased.
Skill: Adaptable - The will to survive no matter the circumstances let humans shake off debuffs faster than other races and can help them survive in treacherous terrain.
Humans are largely blamed for the Reset - their arrogance and wanton destruction of sacred lands never sat well with the gods and everyone knew it. They had no problem tearing down shrines and temples to build sprawling cities. Great factories powered by steam filled the once serene meadows and forests with clanking, hissing, grinding din. They slaughtered the wildlife and thought nothing of it. When the other races began to confront them, they built machines of war as if it was the obvious thing to do in such a situation.
When their temperate paradise was reduced to ash and dirt, humankind did not despair. They simply picked up the pieces and started over from scratch. Settlements cropped up all over the barren wasteland, built in ruins with mana-soaked materials. The wasteland is alive once again with the sounds of steam powered society and the gentle hum of their newest science: Mana crystals.
Appearance: Humans are, well, humans. They can be all shapes, skin tones, and sizes. Since the west was once a varied temperate land, many different cultures similar to our own exist.
