I like my poem. It is very nihilist i think, so be warned, but I'm actually really proud of it. Kind of rare really.

The Long Walk

Hail to these, these fractured days, those hated hours beholden unto nothing
They shield me from those roads that I would trod in apathy
Those monoliths and ruins, the desiccated shells of past triumphs
Here, in the knowledge of reason I am happy, but never content
And so I will shun the path of complacence, knowing it for a charlatan, a spinner of silken lies
Where I chose to walk, I choose to walk forever, for truth is infinite, and I haven’t time to rest

I am an automaton, lost in the puzzles of self-observation
And those who would scoff and say that my pursuit is meaningless will fall behind
They will rage and laugh and think that they have found what I seek
They grasp only their own delusions, but they will grasp them till they bleed
And so I leave them behind, fleeting ghosts, pleading for the world to fill their emptiness

I walk on, into understanding that would topple the thrones of gods
I see millions and billions of lives, an interactive cacophony of interlocking mechanisms
I see above, and outwards, lights so distant that their light is an illusion
In the woven strands of existence uncounted wonders flow through me
I am a font of evolution, a solar storm, made flesh, an electrical impulse, spinning into nowhere
And I am myself, fragile, and complex, a dust speck in a sea of ash

Hail to these fractured days, these fleeting hours, grieving all their kin
They lead me to those paths I walk in effigy
Those constructs, and foundations, the gleaming signs of things to come
Here, in the eye of eternity, I am small, but I am whole
And so, I will walk the road of acceptance, though it shall lead me into fields of thorns
Where I chose to walk, I am content to fall
And if they find me one day, a monolith, a ruin
Know that I wore a smile.
